Campbell Colyer

Associate

Campbell has been practicing law in Houston, Texas since 2018.

Born and raised in Houston, Campbell attended Stratford High School, where he was an active member of the community, the football team, and the lacrosse club. He graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas with a degree in Economics. During his time at Texas A&M, Campbell interned with law firms in Bryan, Texas where he worked on cases involving litigation, criminal defense, and family law.

While at Texas A&M, Campbell became a proud member of the Eta Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity, and met his wife, Brittni. After graduating from Texas A&M, Campbell returned to Houston to attend South Texas College of Law. During law school, he earned a position on one of the school’s prestigious mock trial teams and competed in multiple tournaments.

Campbell’s legal career began in civil litigation, representing various companies in defending personal injury, products, and other claims, and he has also represented local Texas governmental entities, including public utility districts and emergency service districts, in an outside, general counsel role.

Today, Campbell brings this diverse experience and passion for service to the Vasquez Waite team.

Outside of work, Campbell enjoys spending time with his wife, Brittni, and their daughter, Quinn. On the weekends, they enjoy extended family dinners, cheering on their nieces and nephews at their various competitive events, or spending a relaxing afternoon at the park together.

REPRESENTATIVE ENGAGEMENTS

  • Represented a subcontractor in defense of a lawsuit alleging improper installation of piping and other facilities in a commercial building; secured early dismissal based on evidentiary and jurisdictional challenges.
  • Represented a trucking company in litigation arising from a multi-vehicle collision on I-10 near the border of Texas and Louisiana and allegations of serious injuries among multiple plaintiffs.
  • Represented a private contractor on claims of defects and breach of contract made by a Harris County, Texas school district related to the construction of drainage facilities.
  • Represented an Emergency Service District in Comal County, Texas in providing health and emergency-based services to residents within the district.
  • Represented a freight carrier in defending a wrongful death lawsuit arising from fatal automobile accident that occurred in Galveston County.
  • Represented a subcontractor in defending multi-party personal injury lawsuit arising from a personal injury during the construction of an apartment complex in Houston, Texas.
  • Represented Municipal Utility Service Districts within Harris County, Texas and Montgomery County, Texas and surrounding areas in providing water, sewer, and drainage services to residents within the districts.
  • Represented private individuals through insurer defense in personal injury lawsuits stemming from car accidents within the Gulf Coast and South Texas regions.
  • Advised and assisted multiple Municipal Utility Service Districts in successfully running official government elections within Harris County.
  • Advised local government boards on various contracts and real estate transactions within Harris, Montgomery, and Comal County, Texas.
